After a great retrospective and some nice artworks, let's go back to the perspective business. I added a new perspective to our report about visual styles today - the third person perspective.

Fun fact, this is the one I like most for modern games. I like to look at my characters and party, and I also like to see what's going on around my characters.

And I'm still a bit sad every time a new RPG is announced without third person view options.

Today I added some nice Breath of Fire images, most of them from Breath of Fire II.

One Nina from Breath of Fire III slipped in, but overall the quality of these images is so good that I couldn't resist adding them!

Als already teased in yesterday's update, we have new stuff from Kaoru! He did a extensive retrospective about Sakura wars, which is again great and a pleasure to read. I didn't know much about the series itself, so it's really highly appreciated that he went through the effort of collecting all of this information!

Aside of that, I uploaded a few screenshots of my current Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana playthrough!

Sometimes, my thoughts are strange. While I watched the download bar of my Sega Mega Drive collection on the Nintendo Switch, I thought about how strange it was from Sega to release a isometric action RPG in 1994. And so, that's the topic of our new set of reports:

A matter of perspective. Here I take a look into the visual styles that RPGs can be presented in, and the report starts with two classic perspectives: Top down and isometric.

More will come soon in the following updates. But thanks to Kaoru, the next update will be a different one. Stay tuned!

Would you believe what I just updated? I added a bunch of new music files to our corresponding section. They are perfectly legal and hand picked, so feel free to download and use. Please bear in mind that these songs are not in the well-known MP3 or M4A format, but instead use old tracker formats from the 80s. They sound great nonetheless!

The whole music section is a bit of a mess, though. It's not so easy to navigate and I didn't know how to include the newer files, so I just added a section "newer files" on top of the old ones.

I have to rethink this and come up with a better solution :)
