Midi music was the go-to format for video game music on computers in the early days of the internet. They are quite small in size, and the hardware in your computer manages the instruments. So basically, Midis are just sheets that your computer can play. However, MacOS does not support Midi playback out of the box anymore. Use Cog for this!
