Instructions

This is a little turn-based fighting engine inspired by old console RPGs. It is pretty simple, this document shows you how it is played.

Goal

Level up by battling monsters. Once you reached two levels more than the strongest monster, you win.

Creating a character

Enter a name, and then choose if you want to play with a male or female looking model. The gender appearance does not have any effect on the stats.

Choosing Offensive as your magic allows to cast a spell that hurts the enemy, while choosing Devensive will allow for a Cure spell that restores some HP.

Offensive players will grow in attack stats for every level up more than the defense stat, while Defensive players will have their defense increased more than their offense for every level up.

The character can be loaded after initially bging created. You can write down your personal token and resume the game anywhere with that token.

Battle

Battles are turn-based. Players will always act first.

"Attack" will fire an arrow towards your enemies.

"Blaze" will deduct a fixed amount of HP from the enemy. "Cure" will add a fixed amount of HP to the player's HP. They all cost MP.

"Shuffle monster" will present you a different monster. It will always be in the range of two levels below the player's level and one level above the player's level.

"Go back" returns to the title screen.

The battle will end when either the enemy or the player are out of HP. The character will be saved at the end of each battle.

Leveling and EXP

With each battle won, players will get EXP. For weaker enemies, you will get less EXP, stronger enemies reward more EXP. At 100 EXP, a level up will occur.

A level up will restore and increase HP, MP, attack and defensive power.

A battle lost will return to 0 exp in the current level, but HP and MP will be restored.

Remarks

This game is pretty simple, just enjoy it as it is. I'm pretty sure it's easy to manipulate, but where's the fun in that? :).
